Nostalgia Spectrum: Maze Mania

Maze Mania is a 1989 arcade-style action puzzle game for the ZX Spectrum 48K, published by Hewson Consultants. Players control a character named Flippo through a series of top down mazes. The main objective is to walk over every tile to change its color to a designated target shade.Some tiles change color every time you step on them, while others only switch when approached from specific directions. At every turn enemies roam the maze and drain Flippo's energy bar upon contact. Flippo can jump over both enemies and chasms. To aid your quest there are items scattered across the levels grant extra energy, extra lives, or temporary invincibility/ability to defeat enemies. Once every tile matches the required color, a patterned exit point opens to let you advance if you can find it. I enjoyed this game and recommend giving it a go 😉
