鬼哭 — KIKOKU
KIKOKU is the cry of the forgotten dead.
Deep in an abandoned mountain village, MIYABI hears countless voices mourning beneath the silence.
Long ago, frightened villagers closed their gates to travelers seeking refuge from cold, hunger, and disease.
Those left outside died without graves.
But the village itself could not escape death.
Centuries later, their voices still remain.
Some cry in anger.
Some in fear.
Some only want proof that they once lived.
MIYABI does not judge the dead.
She listens.
Through her song, the forgotten voices are finally heard—not as curses, but as people who once loved, feared, suffered, and lived.
“We were here.
We were alive.
We had names.”
As their cries rise into the night, pale blue souls begin to ascend toward the sky.
But beyond their silence, MIYABI senses something else awakening.
More voices.
More footsteps.
Something is beginning to gather.
