Worthy Is the Lamb

🐑 WORTHY IS THE LAMB | Revelation 5:5–14 Treasures of Christian Hymnody “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain!” Inspired by the heavenly vision of Revelation 5, this hymn follows John from his weeping before the sealed scroll to the announcement that the Lion of the tribe of Judah has conquered. Yet when John looks, he sees the Lamb — slain, standing, and worthy. The song then expands into heavenly worship: the elders bow down, countless angels proclaim the Lamb’s worthiness, and finally every creature joins in blessing, honor, glory and dominion to the One seated on the throne and to the Lamb. This new biblical adaptation brings the historic Köthen melody into a luminous Protestant choral setting, preserving its sacred character while giving Revelation 5 a new English hymn text. 🎼 Historic melody: Köthen, 1733 📜 Historic text associated with the melody: J.
