Road Trip around New Zealand Almost two months of traveling around New Zealand's South & North island, and what a journey! New Zealand is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. New Zealand is known for it's beautiful nature and lovely views. We started our New Zealand adventure in Christchurch and rented a campervan with Travellers Autobarn. Renting a campervan is the best way to discover the country. Our campervan took us everwhere. From the hilly South Island to the more tropical North Island. We had some great adventures along the way in the South Island, like visiting Milford Sound, which was beautiful even with rain and fog. It is also worth stopping in Queenstown, which is better known as the 'Adventure Capital of the World'. We have certainly experienced adventure, such as rafting, the luge, and of course the Nevis Swing. Next stop was Fox Glacier, where we made a helicopter flight. So sad to see and to hear that the glacier is melting so quickly! And ofcourse, if you like hiking you definitely have to walk to Roy's Peak near Wanaka. The view is stunning, just like the South Island of New Zealand. The North Island was wonderful too. We obviously had to hike the 'Tongariro Alpine Crossing and what a beautiful day it was. With a length of 19 kilometers it is easily around 8 hours of walking, but definitely worth the effort. We also had a fantastic time at the Waitomo Glowworm Caves.
