X-Men: The Arcade Game (Arcade, 1992) FULL 2 PLAYER PLAYTHROUGH (Long Play) (6 Player Cabinet)

I was always more of a Spider-Man fan as a kid, but you can't go wrong with a licensed Konami games from the early 90s. This game was fantastic in its day, good looking characters, colourful backgrounds, slick animation, and that classic Konami gameplay which is just made for fantastic multiplayer fun. They even went one step further with this an experimented with a 6 Player version, across two screens. MAME does a fantastic job of allowing you to play both of these, the standard 2-4 Player single screen and the extended 2 screen version (played here). In this version you cannot choose your characters, your character is assigned based on which player you are. I only saw a couple of these in the wild, one of the biggest issues was that one screen could be damaged or have dodgy colours while the other was fine, it could really affect the experience. Which ever version you choose, you really can't go wrong, X-Men is a really fun game, especially when played with friends. There are 6 characters to choose from: Cyclops, Colossus, Wolverine, Storm, Nightcrawler or Dazzler. Your objective is to stop Magneto from wreaking havoc on human civilization. You must fight through enemies from the comics such as an army of hundreds of Sentinels, mutant crocodiles, the Reavers, and supervillains such as Pyro, Blob, Wendigo, Nimrod, the White Queen, Juggernaut, the Living Monolith, and Mystique. The heroes fight their way to Island M and ultimately to Magneto's base on Asteroid M, where the final battle takes place. The in-game character designs are based on the 1989 pilot X-Men: Pryde of the X-Men.
