Enta muddo enta sogaso - Bindumalini - Tyagaraja - M Balamuralikrishna - MC - UKS (1970s)

Among many rare rāgas and rare compositions popularised by Dr. Mangalampalli Balamuralikrishna, the kriti Enta muddó enta sogasó and the rāga Bindumālini’s popularity is also credited to him. He has sung this soothing and melodious composition of Saint Tyagaraja in many of his concerts, but the one presented here has something special. Rāga Bindumālini is one of the creations of Saint Tyāgarāja. It is derived from the 16th mélakarta rāga - Chakravāka. It is a shādava – shādava rāga (6 notes each way) with vakra sanchāra in both Aróhanam (s g3 r2 g3 m1 p n2 S) and Avaróhanam (S n2 S d2 p g3 r1 s) r2 s) rāga. Saint Tyāgarāja introduced this rāga for the first time through his only kriti – Enta muddó enta sogasó This rendition is an excerpt from a live concert of 1970s. Here, Dr. M Balamuralikrishna (BMK) is accompanied by Sri. M Chandrasekharan (Violin) and Sri. Umalyalpuram Sivaraman (Mridangam).
