Join Henry Li live as I carve a pair of traditional Chinese wedding seals 對印章 (duì yìnzhāng) for a cross-cultural wedding gift. This special project features two name seals: 張瑋 (Zhāng Wěi) 貝絲 (Bèi Sī) Both seals are carved on a matched pair of dragon and phoenix seal stones 龍鳳對章 (lóng fèng duì zhāng), a meaningful format in Chinese visual culture. The dragon and phoenix together traditionally symbolize harmony, partnership, and auspicious union, making them especially fitting for a wedding gift. In this livestream, I will demonstrate the art of Chinese seal carving 篆刻 (zhuànkè), including: arranging the seal design in seal script 篆書 (zhuànshū) transferring the design to the stone carving the names by hand making test impressions refining the final pair of seals A wedding seal pair is more than a personal name mark.
