Naltar Valley in Gilgit-Baltistan has some of the most unreal alpine lakes in Pakistan — but getting to them is a 4x4 jeep track that beats you up for two hours straight. In this vlog, I go from Gilgit → Nomal → Naltar Bala, then up the rough track to Satrangi (Rainbow) Lake and Blue Lake. Here's what it actually costs, what it actually looks like, and whether I'd do it again. WHAT YOU'LL SEE The real condition of the Gilgit–Naltar road (nobody shows you this part) Satrangi Lake — the lake that shifts colour with the sunlight What the jeep + guide actually cost us Where we stayed and what we ate QUICK TRAVEL INFO 📍 Naltar Valley, Gilgit District, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan 🚗 ~34–40 km from Gilgit, roughly 1.5–2 hours 🛻 4x4 only past Nomal — the lakes are another ~12 km of rough track from Naltar Bala 📅 Best season: May to October (winter = skiing at Naltar Ski Resort) Planning your own trip? Ask me anything in the comments — I reply to all of them.
