I Thought Spain Did Everything Late. I Was Wrong.

I used to think Spain just did everything late. Back in Michigan, our family usually ate dinner around 6 or 7. Here in Valencia, we’re normally closer to 8 or 8:30...and a 9 PM dinner doesn’t feel nearly as strange to me anymore. After living in Spain for more than a year, I’ve realized the difference isn’t just dinner time. The whole rhythm of the day feels different...from meals and restaurant hours to family evenings and how long the social part of the day can stretch. In this video, I’m looking at what changed for me, why my definition of “late” started shifting, and why part of Spain’s evening rhythm feels strangely familiar.
