Ruth is not just a love story. It is a fifty-day story, beginning at the barley harvest around Passover and ending at the wheat harvest around Shavuot. It is the Omer count in narrative form. In this teaching, we’ll explore Ruth, Naomi, Boaz, chesed, and the God who refuses to leave. From Ruth’s vow to stay with Naomi, to Boaz spreading his wing over Ruth, to the Spirit coming at Pentecost, this message reveals Shavuot as the feast of covenant faithfulness.
