Awalim at Shimmy in Bloom March 2026 Set 1

Awalim Dance Company’s first set at Shimmy in Bloom, filmed March 28, 2026, at Red Light Café in Atlanta, Georgia. This set featured two world fusion choreographies: a Rajasthani fusion piece to “Cybele” by Solace, followed by a Russian skirt fusion piece to “Saraiman” by The Fishtank Ensemble. Founded in 1999, the Awalim Dance Company is a world fusion ensemble rooted in dance history, collaboration, and cultural integrity. The company studies with SWANA culture bearers and origin teachers, honoring the traditions behind the forms it brings to the stage. In 2025, founding director Ziah McKinney passed leadership to longtime company member Majda Anwar. #AwalimDanceCompany #ShimmyInBloom #BellyDance #WorldFusion #RajasthaniFusion #RussianSkirtDance #Solace #FishtankEnsemble #AtlantaDance #AtlantaBellyDance #RedLightCafe
