Announcing the initiative, Karnataka Minister for Health, Minority Welfare, Waqf and Hajj, **U.T. Khader**, said that the new system will transfer honorarium amounts directly into the beneficiaries' Aadhaar-linked bank accounts through the DBT mechanism. According to the minister, a total of *15,936 beneficiaries* are eligible for honorarium payments, including: 8,032 Imams 7,904 Muezzins The payment process is being implemented in three phases: *Phase 1:* Honorarium has already been transferred to the bank accounts of 6,735 Imams and Muezzins. *Phase 2:* Details of another 2,369 beneficiaries have been submitted to the Seva Sindhu Department, and the payment process is underway. *Phase 3:* The Waqf Board is working to complete the transfer process for all remaining eligible beneficiaries. The minister further announced that the pending honorarium payments for *September and October 2026* will be transferred to beneficiaries' bank accounts during November 2026.
