Not wanting to see anyone? A UCLA study found an immune response turned down the desire to socialize within two hours. By hour four, it was back. Here's what inflammation might have to do with the nights you cancel.
In a randomised, double-blind trial, 40 healthy women received either a small dose of endotoxin, which makes the immune system react as if it's fighting an infection, or salt water. Two hours in, the endotoxin group wanted to chat less and enjoyed things less, while their interest in puzzles, films and quiet time didn't change. This video of Inner Lift explains what that might mean for the nights you don't want anyone, and the honest limits of one small study.
