Nykr | Nordic Folk Ballad of the Water Spirit

Gather round, mead-hall crowd… A dark Nordic folk ballad of the Nykr — the water spirit who sits by the black reeds with a fiddle of bone and a smile too wide. This is the tale of Tore, a farmer’s son who heard the song rising from the water one night and paid the price every musician eventually pays. Sparse, atmospheric, and steeped in old Scandinavian folklore. Nyckelharpa, water, and the call that never ends. If the song calls… stay on the shore. #Nykr #Näcken #NordicFolk #ScandinavianFolk #FolkMusic #DarkFolk #Mythology #NorseMythology #FolkBallad #Nyckelharpa #WaterSpirit #TheNordicSkald
