Full Documentary: Illinois Tornadoes

We are excited to share this documentary, which won first place at the Illinois Broadcasters' Association Student Silver Dome Awards in the "Best Longform Journalism Programming" category! Congrats to Aaron Price and the team on this recognition! This year, Illinois leads the entire country for the second year in a row with the highest number of confirmed tornadoes. Many of these violent storms have impacted Southern Illinois, including a violent EF-4 tornado in 2025. Aaron Price with River Region News traveled to the NWS Storm Prediction Center in Oklahoma to find out the possible reasons Illinois is the central bullseye of an expanding tornado alley.
