songs from a small room in tokyo Cicadas - 蝉の声 | Original Instrumental UM-0020 written, performed, produced and mixed by uno moriki cover photo by uno moriki 27 Aug 2026 ◆ Liner Notes | English: I think I’m going to call this piece “Haiku Music.” Music stripped down even further from what I’ve called “Short Music.” A haiku captures a landscape, a season, or a fleeting feeling in just a few words. To me, Haiku Music is a little like that. It’s not about taking a long song and making it shorter. It’s about capturing a single landscape or feeling within a short piece of music from the very beginning. For “Cicadas,” I layered guitar over the sound of cicadas that I recorded while taking a walk. While making this piece, I found myself thinking of Matsuo Bashō’s famous haiku: “Stillness— the sound of cicadas sinking into the rocks.” Summer, 2026. The sound of cicadas I heard on that walk. Just a small moment like that, turned into a short piece of music. The cover photo is a casual shot of my own shadow, taken on a hot summer day when I visited Meiji Jingu. ◆ ライナーノーツ | 日本語: 僕はこの曲を「Haiku Music」と呼ぼうと思っています。 これまでの「Short Music」から、さらに音を削ぎ落とした音楽。 俳句は、ほんのわずかな言葉で、一つの風景や季節、その瞬間の感覚を切り取ります。 僕にとってのHaiku Musicも、それに少し似ています。 長い曲を短くしたものではなく、最初から短い音の中に、一つの風景や感覚を閉じ込める。 今回の「Cicadas」は、散歩の途中で録音した蝉の声に、ギターを重ねました。 この曲を作りながら、ふと思い出したのが、松尾芭蕉の有名な句、 「閑さや岩にしみ入る蝉の声」 でした。 2026年の夏、その日の散歩で聞いた蝉の声。 それだけの小さな出来事を、短い音楽にしてみました。 ジャケット写真は、夏の暑い日に、明治神宮を参拝したとき、何気なく撮った自分の影です。 #ShortMusic #BedroomPop #instrumental #TokyoBedroomPop #UnoMoriki #homerecording #DTM #作曲 #宅録 #ベッドルームポップ #1日1曲
