Logline
Struggling under the weight of unemployment and his father’s harsh expectations, an aspiring filmmaker finally lands a life-changing production deal—only to receive a corporate job offer at the exact same moment. Forced to decide between his colorful passion and a stable reality, he makes a heartbreaking choice that defines his future.
Synopsis
The Shadow (Black & White) The film opens in a stark, black-and-white world, mirroring the protagonist's bleak state of mind. Sitting on a park bench, he faces the humiliation of yet another rejected interview. A phone call from his father escalates the tension; the father berates him for chasing "cinema dreams" instead of a stable job. Pushed to the breaking point, the protagonist snaps, yelling at his father about the unfair pressure and lack of support, before hanging up in guilt.
The Routine We cut to the protagonist's sluggish, depressed daily routine. He wakes up late, brushes his teeth lethargically, and stares blankly at the ceiling. The world feels heavy. A visual motif of an "Eclipse" appears in the sky through the balcony door, symbolizing his overshadowed potential. As he cycles through the city, he feels the piercing gaze of society—paranoia sets in, and he believes everyone is judging him for being unemployed.
The Confrontation Back in his room, his friend and writing partner, Chari, confronts him. Chari urges him to swallow his pride and take a referral job. The protagonist refuses, insisting he will only take a job he earns on his own merit. Chari leaves in frustration, giving him an ultimatum to decide within 15 minutes.
The Choice (The Climax) Suddenly, the protagonist receives a call from a company. He has been selected for a corporate job—the stability his father craves. He tentatively accepts. Moments later, Chari calls with incredible news: Mythri Movie Makers has read their script (written in a flashback sequence showing their passion) and wants to produce it.
The Resolution As he opens the email regarding the movie deal, the screen briefly flushes with Color, representing the joy and life film brings to him. However, the film cuts to a fast-forward montage. In a tragic visual twist, the "Cinema" moments revert to Black & White (signifying a memory or a dead dream), while the "Corporate Job" scenes remain in Color (signifying his chosen reality).
The film ends with the realization that he has chosen the job to appease his father, effectively "eclipsing" his own dreams.
