5 Animals You Should NEVER Buy First — They End Most New Homesteads

I’ve watched too many new homesteads begin with a cute, affordable animal and end in feed bills, emergencies, and burnout. In this video, I rank five animals I believe beginners should never buy first—and reveal which gentle-looking animal helped end two of the six homesteads I counted from my fence line. I score each one on: • What it costs me to get started • How long I wait before it gives anything back • How likely it is to die on me • Whether I can leave it alone for one weekend I’m sharing the patterns I’ve seen since 2015 so I can help you avoid an expensive first mistake. #Homesteading #HomesteadLife #FarmAnimals
