Torso Electronics S-4: Creating Ambient Worlds from Scratch

Welcome to Vol. 43 of my Torso Explorations series! In this sound design session, we are diving deep into the S-4 sculpting sampler by Torso Electronics. For this episode, I challenged myself to use exclusively live recordings as my sound sources. I walked around the house and gathered various small percussion instruments—wind chimes, agogo bells, and a handheld drum, then recorded them directly on the S-4 using the internal microphone. I build the foundation with these acoustic textures and complete the session by recording my own voice directly into the S-4.
