This video, taken a couple of days after the previous, shows a little closer view of the escapement in action. After being restarted a few times to get the new parts to bed in a little the clock will now go for hours, until our improvised weight reaches the bottom of it's short travel.
The pendulum is only a temporary one, shorter than it should be, so the clock is running too fast in this video. You'll also notice we don't have banking pins yet, but this job is being managed by the blocks sat next to the bracket. We also had to add a little extra thickness to pin at the bottom of the left (as the video is shot) lifting arm. Some clocks have an adjustable section here, we just need to bend the arm in a fraction.
The clock is a 1922 Smith of Derby flat bed turret clock. It was converted to electric drive in the 70s, very unsympathetically. The entire escapement was lost at that time and has had to be recreated, along with all the red parts you can see in the video and most of the steel and brass parts you can see connected to red parts.
