That’s why we couldn’t brag about this split, because in order for it to be completed it took many hours in the studio, plenty of gear, experience, and knowledge we didn’t have to begin with. We received valuable help and genuine support from our friends and comrades, who are involved in various self-organized / self-managed music projects in Athens. Together, we shared our energy and time to bring to life an idea that first came to mind two years ago, after the bands’ interaction at the Self-Managed Studio of Geraniou (and not only there). Our coexistence at the studio brought us closer not only to each other but also created connections with people both within and outside the project — connections that overturned the traditional roles of musician–producer–listener as imposed by the entertainment industry, allowing us to set our own terms, far from hierarchies and clientelist logic. In conclusion, even though this split bears the “signature” of the two bands, in reality it is a collective effort of many more people who are committed to supporting self-organized music projects and the DIY scene. We would therefore like to thank our friends and comrades from: the Self-Managed Studio of Geraniou, the Self-Managed Studio of Kalamida, Ypoga K94, and StuΔio — and of course Diana G for the artwork. Greetings to all our fellow travelers in DIY projects and supporters of heavy sound. P.S. Let’s not forget that the release of this split comes at a time when the Israeli state is unleashing its military power and massacring Gaza. The Greek state, of course, is not absent from this assault — at the same time it covers up the murders of Tempi, organizes the extermination of migrants at the borders, passes labor laws that deepen the precarity of our lives, and turns our neighborhoods into tourist attractions. And yet, Palestinians continue to resist; people keep taking to the streets and fighting; uprisings are breaking out in the Philippines, Nepal, Indonesia, France, and elsewhere. Let’s stay in the streets, the squares, the basements, and the rooftops — singing and shouting for ourselves and for all the oppressed of this world. ***Bands Submission***
