Dave Canales encourages fans to wear black on Sunday | Carolina Panthers

Panthers head coach Dave Canales meets with the media as the team prepares for a Sunday Night Football blackout against the Lions at Bank of America Stadium. Canales gives updates on Bryce Young's sore knee, Monroe Freeling entering concussion protocol, and recovery timelines for Jaycee Horn and Mike Jackson, confirming neither is out for the season. He also explains the decision to hold a walkthrough to get more players on the field, breaks down how an early spike in defensive snaps has taken a toll, and praises Derrick Brown's leadership up front. Canales closes by highlighting Bryce's calm under pressure and why "next man up" opportunities can energize an entire team. #KeepPounding #Panthers Chapters: 0:00 - Sunday Night Football blackout and back to work 0:22 - Monroe Freeling in concussion protocol 0:52 - Bryce Young's knee update 1:23 - Why the team held a walkthrough 2:05 - Message to the defense after losing two starting corners 3:03 - Recovery timelines for Jaycee Horn and Mike Jackson 3:26 - Mike Jackson's successful surgery 4:04 - Derrick Brown's leadership up front 4:36 - Protecting the special teams units 5:15 - Thoughts on challenging DPI calls 5:35 - Updates on Xavier Legette and Jalen Coker 6:17 - Pressure on Bryce and Corey Bullock stepping in at guard 7:03 - Leaning on past experience with injuries 7:36 - Walkthrough decision and injury meetings 8:23 - Accumulated snaps and time of possession 9:20 - Will Lee III's learning curve at corner 10:06 - Versatility of the new interior linemen 10:45 - Takeaways from the injury review 11:31 - Bryce thriving under pressure 12:31 - Handling injuries with a "next man up" mindset Subscribe to the Panthers YT Channel: https://bit.ly/35gP3RB For More Panthers NFL Action: https://bit.ly/2nv06FN #CarolinaPanthers #Panthers #NFL #Football For more Panthers action: https://www.panthers.com/ Like us on Facebook:   / carolinapanthers   Follow us on Instagram:   / panthers   Follow us on Twitter:   / panthers
