Ryūnosuke Akutagawa's Kappa

Kappa is a strange, unsettling, and deeply human story - a satirical reflection of modern society and the futility of human values. Watch my video as an introduction into Akutagawa's short story which is both hilarious and existential. This is a spoiler-free video so I won't be ruining any of the fun bits for you. I'm just dissecting some of its absurd themes. It's such a bizarrely entertaining story in so many strange ways. From parents asking babies if they want to be born to the kappas praying to Nietzsche. I can't wait to read it again! Books mentioned: 1. Kappa - Ryūnosuke Akutagawa' 2. A Life of a Stupid Man - Ryūnosuke Akutagawa' 2.
