1968 Buick Skylark Restoration – Fabricating a Floor Pan Reinforcement From Scratch The floor pan is ready to go in… but there's a bigger problem underneath it. While working on the floor of my 1968 Buick Skylark, I discovered that the original floor pan reinforcement was badly rusted and couldn't simply be reused. Rather than looking for a replacement, I decided to fabricate a new reinforcement myself. In this episode, I build the replacement brace from scratch, fit it to the car, weld it in, and continue installing the new floor pan. It's another one of those restoration jobs where the simple repair turns into a much bigger project — but that's part of bringing a rusty old Skylark back to life.
