I Planned This Back In February

I didn't exactly want to follow through with it, but I knew it was probably necessary for the future. So today, I finally did it. I cut my locs. My hair had started getting noticeably thin around the top of my head, to the point where I was getting close to having a bald spot. The hair is still growing there, but it's much finer and thinner than the rest. Rather than ignore it and continue putting stress on the area, it was time to make a change. In this video, you get to come with me to the salon as we cut and preserve my locs, take care of what's left, and talk through the plan moving forward. The goal isn't to simply cut my hair and start over. I'm going to grow it out, give the thinner areas time to thicken up, and eventually get my hair loc'd again. Was I ready to let the locs go? Absolutely not. But sometimes the decision you don't want to make is the one you have to make for what's ahead. So...the loc journey has officially entered a new chapter.
