The further north you go in Japan, the slower the world seems to move. After exploring Sendai and Kitakami in Part 1, we are taking the Shinkansen all the way to the top of Honshu to experience Aomori and the legendary Hirosaki—home to what many consider the most spectacular, peaceful cherry blossom views in the entire country. Traveling at a more deliberate, meaningful pace after my life reset at 50 allows me to appreciate these destinations completely differently. In this video, we explore the vibrant local culture of Aomori, experience the breathtaking sakura tunnels and castle moats of Hirosaki, and finally loop back to Tokyo to experience a short contrast in the busy and crowded Japan.
