🗓️ Solo Halloween Camping – October 8–9, 2025 🎃⛰️🔥☕
This week, the weather was beautiful, so I decided to go camping in the mountains.
You can feel that autumn has just begun — the leaves are starting to fall.
I found a quiet spot by a river, completely alone.
Since there wasn’t much space, I decided to set up a tarp instead of a tent.
Because it’s Halloween, I brought a few decorations.
I rearranged my lantern setup and customized some pumpkins I found to fit perfectly with them — I think they turned out great.
I also found a big pumpkin where I placed a lamp inside, and a small ceramic pumpkin that looks pretty nice too.
As the sun set, I lit my oil lamps and set up my new lantern stand in front of my camp.
The atmosphere tonight feels just right — calm, cozy, and a little mysterious.
🍲 Dinner:
Night fell suddenly, and it was time to prepare dinner.
Since it’s Halloween, I decided to cook pumpkin.
I cut it into pieces, placed them in my pot, added water and soy sauce, and brought it to a boil.
While the pumpkin was cooking, I prepared some rice.
I washed it several times, let it rest, then cooked it in my new mess tin on the second gas burner.
Next, I fried some bacon to make a bit of fat for the pan — that helps prevent the meat from sticking.
When the bacon was almost done, I added a piece of pork and cooked it slowly.
The smell was delicious — smoky and rich.
Everything turned out really well.
A simple but satisfying Halloween meal. 🎃
☕ After Dinner:
To finish my meal, I made a cup of pour-over coffee.
The temperature had dropped, but it wasn’t too cold.
With my coffee, I enjoyed a small pumpkin-shaped cookie — the perfect way to end dinner.
🔥 Evening:
I ended the night with a whisky by the fire, enjoying the calm and the flicker of the flames.
🌄 Next Morning:
I slept very well, and luckily, it didn’t rain.
In the morning, a few clouds drifted by, but they soon disappeared.
For breakfast, I made coffee again and cooked some pancakes to go with it.
After breakfast, I packed everything up and headed back to Tokyo.
A short but perfect autumn camping trip. 🍂
