Limita con los barrios de Monserrat al norte, San Telmo al este, Barracas al sur, y Parque Patricios y San Cristóbal al oeste. La superficie del barrio es de 2,11 km² aproximadamente y alrededor de 41 894 habitantes según el censo de 2001.
