Hi There! My name is… The Immortals. I have been DJ’ing for 19 years, and am a lonnngg time fan of the Sashas, Digweeds, Warrens, Seamans, and Lavelles of the world. Adam Freeland has been my favorite artist for decades. I bring this up first because the Timeless Storytelling and tension building journeys from DJ mix albums has become somewhat of a rarity, and these guys were the best at it. Today there is still so much amazing electronic music coming out, but getting it crafted in the form of a well-rounded, complete, beautiful DJ mix journey is the challenging part. Craftsmanship: The #1 thing I do with this hobby, is create mix albums, more than live gigs. They are complete with full professional quality tangible artwork. I won’t seal up an album until it is 100% polished. Fully mastered, with CD quality sound, proper levels, punchiness, and no clipped peaks…. If a transition doesn’t sound exactly how I want it to be heard, I am back on the decks re-recording that section, however many times are needed. No rushing, ever. All of my mixes are recorded from physical DJ equipment. I play on my trusty DDJ-RZ, all genuine… no automation, no AI slop, no dropping a handful of songs into a software, and letting the automation do the rest. A Brief History: Today, I am launching my beloved Dawn Theory Series. It starts with The Dawn Theory 2… Because the first one is from 2012, and really could use a re-master before I am ready to put it out to the full public, like classic video games, I may put out a re-master in the future, depending on how the series catches on. If you miss the non-repetitive, narrative driven flow of classic 2-disc mix albums, and would like to jump back into that realm, then join me on the journey! The Concept: May be classic, but the musical selection going into these albums is totally current. You’ll hear music all the way up to 2026, from guys like Paulor, Sons of Slough, Yør Kultura, and Renaissance Man to name a few. ‘The Dawn Theory’ is actually an homage to the golden era of the Global Underground Afterhours Series. If you are familiar with that, you will immediately feel it, from the art, to the music and cinematic storytelling. But that’s okay, it’s totally me, it’s an homage, not a carbon copy in any sense. This stuff goes deep, weeks of studio work creating each disc. If you choose to take this journey, I'd love to hear your thoughts, from the heart.
