Onimusha: Way of the Sword - Walkthrough Part 1: Ruckus at Rendaino

In Part 1 of my Onimusha: Way of the Sword walkthrough, we begin with the Prologue and continue through Chapter 1 – The Ruckus at Rendaino. We start off as Miyamoto Musashi, facing Yoshioka Seijuro and learning the basics of Onimusha’s combat. After fighting through the Yoshioka students, things quickly take a much darker turn when Musashi is attacked by the Genma and killed. He awakens at the gates of Hell, where a mysterious man revives him and gives him the Oni Gauntlet, setting the events of the game into motion. From there, Musashi travels to Rokudo-chinnoji Temple, where we meet Ono no Takamura and Izumo no Okuni. We fight off the Genma attacking the temple, seal our first Rift, and learn more about the Oni Gauntlet and the growing Genma threat. Takamura then takes us below the temple to reveal the gateway to Hell and explains our new objective of cleansing the corrupted sanctuaries throughout Kyoto. Before setting out, Okuni introduces us to the Spirit Mirrors, which allow us to travel between locations, and gives us the Hozuki Pouch for healing. With that, our journey begins as we prepare to head toward Kiyomizu-dera Temple. This is my first playthrough of Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and this series will cover the full game including the story, bosses, and exploration.
