Bring a tower defence game to life in Unreal Engine 5.8 with a Niagara explosion of smoke and sparks, enemies that run and fall with free Mixamo animations, and sounds that live in the world. Everything is built in Blueprints, with no code. Chapters: 0:00 Introduction 0:17 Where we're headed 1:35 A first Niagara system 4:37 The smoke emitter 6:53 A soft smoke material 9:50 Sparks and timing 12:04 Effects in the level 13:40 Characters from Mixamo 15:36 Importing the character 17:45 Retargeting with an IK Rig 20:00 Animations on the enemy 25:21 Sounds in the world 29:01 Footsteps and a bang Optional challenges: add a muzzle flash for the turrets, give the enemy an attack or idle animation, or add a sound that belongs to the world, like a turret firing. If you built the effects, like the video and subscribe for the next one. What would you add a particle effect to first, and which sound changed how the map feels? Tell me in the comments. #UnrealEngine5 #Niagara #GameDev
