An Eagle Called 5 Times, Nobody Landed... Nest Stayed Empty — Where's Shadow? | Big Bear Eagle Daily

October 29 at Big Bear began with an empty Roost Tree at 6:24 AM. At 6:27, an eagle called from off camera, and more calls followed through sunrise, at 6:55, 7:11, 7:15 and 7:16. No eagle appeared on the Nest each time. A Steller's jay stopped by, but the Nest bowl stayed still while light spread over the lake and mountains. At 3:24 PM, an eagle flew by without landing, and only sticks were left in view. The Nest stayed bare into late afternoon. Then came more calls from off camera: at 4:54 PM, at 5:03 PM, and just after 5:07 PM. Another call followed at 5:40 PM. Every time, the frame stayed empty and the caller never showed up. At 6:08 PM, an unidentified eagle passed through without landing. By 6:24 PM, the Roost Tree was checked and no eagles were in it, same as October 27 and 28. Shadow and Kaydee went unseen tonight. Who was calling all day, and where did the flyby eagle roost? Will Shadow and Kaydee be back at the Nest tomorrow?
