On day three of our Almaty adventure, we headed into the mountains to explore Medeu and Shymbulak. We started at the famous Medeu ice rink (highest ice rink in the world!) and climbed the legendary 842-step “Health Staircase” before continuing towards Shymbulak Mountain Resort. After the hike, we took the spectacular gondola back down through the mountains.
