A quiet rainy afternoon at home takes a gentle turn when a message arrives from the pottery studio—my bisque-fired pieces are ready for glazing. With a clear umbrella in hand, I walk through the rain-soaked neighborhood art street and return to the studio to glaze my handleless tea cup and Lumi’s little food bowl. I choose a muted dusty-rose color and add a simple kitten profile and tiny paw-print details before leaving both pieces behind for their final firing. Back home, the rain continues into the night as I prepare a comforting dinner of rich tomato pork rib soup, crispy pan-fried tofu, and warm white rice. The evening ends slowly, with warm lamplight, the sound of rain beyond the balcony, and Lumi resting close beside me.
