She Led Delhi Crime Branch. Now She Leads Puducherry | IPS Shalini Singh

From Delhi’s Crime Branch to leading Puducherry Police, IPS officer Shalini Singh’s career spans nearly three decades of policing across diverse assignments. A 1996-batch AGMUT officer, she has served in Delhi, Arunachal Pradesh, the Andaman & Nicobar Islands and other senior roles, handling field policing, law and order, intelligence, welfare, economic offences and crime investigation. In 2023, she headed the committee examining the police response to the Kanjhawala incident. In 2024, she became the first woman to head Delhi Police’s Crime Branch before taking charge as DGP Puducherry. Her current tenure focuses on citizen policing, road safety, women and child safety, forensics, cyber capabilities and new criminal laws.
