ದಫನ ಭೂಮಿ ವಿವಾದ: ಮೂಡುಶೆಡ್ಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೃಹತ್ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ | Moodushedde Protest Opposes Burial Ground Approval

For licensing this content, please write to udayavanionline@gmail.com A protest was held outside Moodushedde Gram Panchayat in Mangaluru taluk on October 12, opposing the approval granted for a burial ground at the ‘Botta’ area of Moodushedde village. Organised by the Moodushedde Hindu Hitarakshana Samiti, the protest saw religious leaders and speakers raise objections to the proposed burial ground, citing the area's religious and cultural significance. Sri Rajasekharananda Swamiji of Gurupura Vajradehi Math alleged that the land belongs to local daivas and called on authorities to withdraw the approval. Speaker Srikanth Shetty also questioned the decision, stating that local residents' objections had not been considered and urging that the area's traditions and communal harmony be protected. The petition submitted through the Tahsildar to the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the presence of the Jarandaya and associated daivas' Dharma Chavadi, a naga shrine and a Jain basadi in the area. It also cited nearby agricultural land, a natural water source used by residents and the proximity of Pilikula Nisargadhama. The committee demanded cancellation of the newly granted approval, noting that two mosques and burial grounds already exist in the area, according to the petition. MLA Umanath Kotian and Bhaskar Chandra Shetty were present. The report covers the protest, the concerns raised by organisers and their appeal to the district administration. #Moodushedde #Mangaluru #Botta #BurialGround #Protest #MoodusheddeNews #UmanathKotian #RajasekharanandaSwamiji #SrikanthShetty #PilikulaNisargadhama #DakshinaKannada #KarnatakaNews #LocalNews #CommunityIssues #UdupiNews #ಮೂಡುಶೆಡ್ಡೆ #ಮಂಗಳೂರು #ಬೊಟ್ಟ #ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ #ದಫನಭೂಮಿ …………………………………………………………………………………….
