What If There's Not One Judgment, But Two?

Most people think judgment is one event. The evidence proves two. QUESTION: If we shall ALL stand before the judgment seat of Christ, why does Scripture describe two different outcomes with two different purposes? INVESTIGATION: This file examines the foundation of eternal judgment from Hebrews 5-6, tracing the evidence through Hebrews 9, Romans 14, John, 1 John, and Matthew 25 to separate correspondence from correlation to identification. EVIDENCE DOSSIER: • Hebrews 9:24-28 - appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment • Romans 14:10-13 - we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ • John 5:24 - passed from death unto life, shall not come into condemnation • 1 John 5:13, 1 John 2:27-28 - confidence at His coming • Matthew 25:31-46 - the sheep and the goats EVIDENTIARY FINDINGS: 1. Believers WILL appear before the judgment seat - not for punishment, but weighed for rewards. Jesus took the judgment for sin. 2. The unsaved appear for a different judgment - to understand WHY they are lost. No one will be lost and not know why. 3. Works do not save - we are saved UNTO good works. How we treated "the least of these" reveals character. THE VERDICT: There are not two opinions about judgment. There are two judgments, two purposes, both eternal and irreversible.
