Blackpool Culture - Funny Girls

Summer 2026 saw 8 community-focused projects take place across Blackpool inviting residents to share their experiences, ideas and ambitions as part of Blackpool’s UK City of Culture bid. These projects made it their mission to capture and celebrate the voices of Blackpool’s communities. Each project captured resident’s hopes and dreams for Blackpool’s cultural and creative future. Projects were delivered by: LeftCoast, Aunty Social, TramShed Theatre Company, Creative Fusion Buzz Bury We Film Blackpool National Literacy Trust, Empowerment, Blackpool Council We spent an incredible evening with the amazing cast and crew of Funny Girls in Blackpool, exploring the relevance of one of Blackpool's most recognised cultural assets.
