Vinayagar Chathurthi

A Tamil poem I wrote for the occasion of VINAYAGAR CHATHURTHI has been beautifully set to music by our dear family friend, Mrs. Vidya Shivakumar. Her daughter, Mrs. Samyuktha has created this wonderful video for the song. P. V. Vaidialingam. The English translation of the lyrics is : O Vinayaka! O Vinayaka! O Vinayaka, who removes all our troubles! Son of Mother Parvathi, O Vinayaka! Beloved child of Lord Parameswara, Elephant-faced Lord Ganesha! Primordial Lord, Gajamukha! Come, bearing your favourite Modakam! Fill our hearts with happiness! Bless us with education and wisdom! Cultivate kindness and humility in us! Remove all obstacles from our way! Relieve us from every sorrow and distress! On this sacred day of Vinayagar Chathurthi, Come and fill every home with Your presence! Let us rejoice Singing songs in Your praise! Let us bow at Your sacred feet, And worship You with devotion!
