Deep Sky Objects | The Shape of Things to Come [SINGLE]

THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME – Deep Sky Objects Somewhere beyond the ruins of our present, another civilisation is dreaming of us. Inspired by the extraordinary imagined futures of H. G. Wells and Olaf Stapledon, The Shape of Things to Come is a journey through the cities of tomorrow, the rise and fall of civilisations, and humanity's restless desire to transcend itself. Against a backdrop of hypnotic analogue synthesisers, driving electronic rhythms, shimmering guitars and soaring melodies, the song imagines a world in which everything familiar has been transformed – yet something recognisably human endures. Vast cities stretching towards the heavens. Machines inheriting the ambitions of their creators. Entire ages passing into memory. And somewhere, amid the immensity of the future, a solitary figure looking out upon what humanity has become. A song about progress and impermanence, memory and transformation – and the strange melancholy of futures that may never arrive. “We are the shape of things to come We are the shadows of the sun And if the world should fall away There's something left of yesterday.” THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME DEEP SKY OBJECTS | 2026 Written and recorded by Deep Sky Objects.
