American Kestrels vs Crickets

The American Kestrel, the smallest species of falcon in North America, is a fierce hunting machine. They can hunt small rodents and birds but the majority of their diet consists of large insects such as grasshoppers and dragonflies. We have received nearly a dozen young Kestrels this summer and it has been a joy to watch them progress from helpless nestlings to developing their hunting skills. Every day they are getting faster and more accurate and will soon be ready to expand their hunting skills in the wild! #AmericanKestrel #falcon #kestrel
