Staveley Extension, New Developments visit 30 09 26

On 30th September 2026 a group of sponsors of the Staveley Town Deal travelled by narrowboat to view the new developments to extend the Chesterfield Canal at Staveley. Arriving in NB Madeline and NB John Varley II, they moored in Staveley Basin where they looked around the Staveley Waterside building that was completed last year although still not yet fully opened. They then continued by boat into the newest section, only recently put in water, leading up to the new Keith Ayling Lock where they disembarked to view the rest of the development shortly to be completed.
