#intelligentdnb | #ambientjungle MIX #001 // MARCONE // 3 1 0 8 2 4

#intelligentdrumandbass mix w/ tracks by Accelio, Sawteeth, KONYAC, Pulsar One, Hu3man, Lifelikemoviee etc \\\\\ intelligent drum and bass, or atmospheric dnb, came to life in the mid-'90s as a more refined, melodic offshoot of the chaotic drum and bass scene. it's called "intelligent" because it dialed back the aggression, focusing on intricate rhythms, lush atmospheres, and jazzy, soulful elements. some also refer to it as "artcore" or "liquid funk," though each term carries its own nuances. pioneers like ltj bukem and omni trio led the charge, blending breakbeats with smooth, ambient sounds and often adding ethereal vocals or organic instruments. the bpm still clocks in around 160-180, but the vibe is more relaxed, aiming to be as mentally engaging as it is danceable. intelligent dnb carved out a space for listeners who wanted something deeper and more contemplative, becoming a favorite in chillout rooms and late-night sets, where the focus is on mood and melody over sheer intensity. \\\\\ short 'n sweet mix of some of Jungle Fatigue Kru's releases, check out their bandcamp: https://sawteeth.bandcamp.com/music
