Remaining alert on duty and locking the gate booms against road traffic before leaving the gate in an emergency. Standing in attention near the gate lodge facing the track to repeat any signal to the loco pilot or show caution/danger signals if anything is wrong with the passing train. Maintaining polite behavior towards the public and producing the public complaint book upon request. Attracting the attention of loco pilots and guards by shouting and gesticulating instead of showing a danger signal in the event of train parting. Protecting the gate or obstruction as per rules during accidents or damage, and reporting any defects to the ASM on duty immediately. Ensuring and communicating the complete arrival of trains under the exchange of a Private Number to the Panel/Block ASM.
