Raag Multani by Aradhana Karhade

A recent performance from a Choupahar/चौपहर baithak that was organized at Hyderabad by Shri. Rahul Deshpande and his better half, Mrs. Sharayu Deshpande. Aradhana Karhade, accompanied by Shri. B Srikant on Tabla and Shri. Rahul Deshpande on the Harmonium, presented Raag Multani in the ‘third prahar’ of the Choupahar concert. Raag Multani is traditionally sung in the third prahar of the day, i.e., between 1pm and 4pm. It evokes calm and tranquil feelings but also feelings of melancholy and uncertainty as the chores of the traditional day are finished and a transition to the evening is awaited.
