Verse 1 Our Abba—what does that mean? Adopted, not born, into this family, strangers that I've never met before, all crying out that intimate name. Matthew 6:9 ; Romans 8:15 ; Galatians 4:5–6. Chorus I could say the words and never mean a thing, a prayer that costs me nothing isn't prayer at all. On earth as it is in heaven, let that start with me— not just my words, but the life I let You see. Matthew 6:10 Verse 2 Hallowed—Lord, what do You want from me? Not playing a part I don't mean, Or hiding who I am behind a mask, but me, plain glass, letting You shine through. Matthew 6:9 Matt 6:1–18 Verse 3 Kingdom come—Your grace is at work right now, though I long for the glory not yet shown. Your kingdom tarries till the whole earth hears— every soul who turns brings it one step nearer. Matthew 6:10a; Luke 17:21, Matthew 24:14 Chorus Verse 4 Will be done—Your law, not a stone I bear, but a joy the angels know above. Let evil end, till only good remains— and let that joy become my own. Matthew 6:10b; Romans 13:10 and 1 John 5:3 ; Daniel 9:24 Verse 5 Daily bread—not stored, not hoarded ahead, but asked believing, the way a child trusts. And what You give me isn't mine to keep— it's a gift I pass to someone else in need. Matthew 6:11; Exodus 16:4, 19–20 Chorus Verse 6 Forgive us—it's my own hand shutting this channel, not You unwilling to move. When shame lies saying I'm too far gone to save, that's the moment I need to bow in prayer. Matthew 6:12; Matthew 6:14–15 ; Hebrews 4:16, 1 John 1:9 Verse 7 Lead us not—Lord, You're never the snare, it's Satan and my heart setting traps for me. Send the fire that tests me, not the snare that breaks— when Satan sifts me as wheat, You've prayed for me. Matthew 6:13a; James 1:13–14 ; Luke 22:31–32 Chorus Bridge Thine is the kingdom—the last word like the first, the Abba who began, the Father at the end. The power and the glory were never mine, they were always Yours—now, forever, the same. Matthew 6:13b
