Omaha Volleyball libero/defensive specialist Sarah Galligan joins Maisie Boesiger on SheSports the Podcast to talk about growing up in Nebraska’s volleyball culture, playing at Elkhorn South and ultimately choosing to represent her hometown at UNO. Galligan, now a junior for the Mavericks, led Omaha with 213 digs during the 2025 season after beginning her collegiate career in 2024. Before UNO, she recorded 820 career digs at Elkhorn South and played club volleyball for Nebraska Elite. Sarah opens up about the recruiting moment that made Omaha feel like home, what a day in the life of a Division I athlete actually looks like, the role faith plays in her life and learning that your identity is bigger than your performance on the court. She also shares why the friendships and experiences from youth sports ultimately mean more than the wins and losses.
