Why I Really Hope Aniimo Succeeds

Aniimo is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious new monster-taming games, and I really hope it succeeds. Aniimo is a free-to-play, open-world creature-catching RPG set across the beautiful continent of Idyll. You'll be able to discover and catch Aniimo, evolve them, battle, explore a massive world, play with other Pathfinders, and use the unique Twine system to essentially become the creatures you've collected. From gliding and diving to PvE/PvP challenges like Egg Heist, player RVs, farming, building, and the Homeland system, Aniimo is trying to take the monster-taming formula in a much bigger direction. Yes, it's free-to-play, and the monetization will be an important part of whether the game succeeds. But free-to-play doesn't automatically mean bad. If the developers can deliver a great experience while respecting players, Aniimo could become something special.
