Grit Removal Classifiers EMS manufactures a range of classifiers from galvanised mild steel, 304 stainless or 316 stainless that can be specified with carbon steel, 304 stainless steel or 316 stainless steel scrolls. The scroll has no submerged bottom bearing, but sits upon internal, stainless steel wear bars that can be easily replaced. Scroll rotation is typically 6 RPM and is driven by a direct coupled, fractional motor and reduction gearbox. The EMS range of classifiers are physically smaller than traditional designs for similar flow rates, relying upon mechanical and process efficiency and superior design. The classifier is designed to operate with optimum retention time in the hopper for grit settlement and the large scroll can accommodate heavier concentrations of grit slurry than traditional machines that usually expect to be charged with vast volumes of water containing very little grit. When used in conjunction with the EMS grit dredging pumps, which will charge the classifier with heavy concentrations of grit the EMS classifier will out perform competitive products, have a smaller footprint and consume less power. Internal grit washing is provided to strip the grit of organic matter before it is ejected.
