His Mercy Endures Genesis 6:1-4 The sons of God (this means the angels) married human women. The sages believe this was probably the fallen angels, These Nephalim (which means “fallen ones”)were the offspring of fallen Angels and human beings. This resulted in giants. They were very tall, powerful, perhaps tyrannical beings. Remember that Cain had gone off to build cities. It seems that people followed him and that the people became wicked and only thought of evil. Genesis 6;6 It says God “regretted” . Did He change his mind? Didn’t he know that man would become evil? Yes, but the Hebrew word here means that He grieved that mankind was so evil. God chose Noah. We don’t know exactly how long it took for Noah to build the Ark. Some Jewish sages say 120 years. But even if it was 50 years, the people had time to repent. But instead they mocked Noah Matthew 24:38-39 Back then, before the Flood, people went on eating and drinking, taking wives and becoming wives, right up till the day Noach entered the ark; and they didn’t know what was happening until the Flood came and swept them all away. It will be just like that when the Son of Man comes. Nahum 1:3 Adonai is slow to anger, but great in power; and he does not leave the guilty unpunished. This is a foreshadow of Immersion: The whole world was immersed through the flood. 1 Peter 3:20-21 20 to those who were disobedient long ago, in the days of Noach, when God waited patiently during the building of the ark, in which a few people — to be specific, eight — were delivered by means of water. 21 This also prefigures what delivers us now, the water of immersion, which is not the removal of dirt from the body, but one’s pledge to keep a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Yeshua the Messiah.
